「ベリーツ」は、大分県が誇るブランドイチゴです。名称の由来は“スイーツみたいなストロベリー”であり、あざやかな赤い果実、甘さと酸味とのバランスの良さが特徴です。
開発には8年もの歳月がかけられ、大分県全体で品質向上に取り組んできた成果が、今の人気につながっています。旬は12〜2月で、県内のスーパーや道の駅などで手にすることができます。
また、ほかの品種と比較して赤さが際立っているため、パフェやケーキといった定番のスイーツだけでなく、贈答用としても人気が高まっています。
BERRYTS / All-Oita
‘BERRYTS’ is a brand of strawberries which Oita Prefecture takes great pride in. The name is derived from a combination between ‘Berry’ and ‘Sweets’ in-line with ‘BERRYTS’ slogan, ‘strawberries that tastes like sweets’, and the fruits are characterised by their vibrant red colour and well-balanced sweetness and acidity.
Eight years of dedicated development and the collaboration of the entirety of Oita Prefecture to improve its quality has resulted in ‘BERRYTS’ current popularity. It is in season from December to February and can be found in a number of supermarkets and roadside stalls in the prefecture.
Since they are noticeably redder than other varieties, these strawberries are becoming increasingly popular, not only for standard confectionary products like parfaits and cakes but also as gifts in their own right.
