PILGRIMAGE TO ‘ATTACK ON TITAN’ / Hita City

Hita City is the home town of Hajime Isayama, author of the popular manga series Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin). The city features many locations linked to the series which fans can enjoy touring around. For example, there are statues of Eren and his friends which you can visit surrounded by the Oyama Dam’s embankment, really making it feel like you’re part of the action, standing right in front of the ‘wall’ that shields people from the Titans. Equally, at JR Hita Station, visitors can look forward to being welcomed by a statue of Captain Levi himself. Furthermore, there is a museum within the ‘Mizube–no–Sato Oyama’ roadside station which exhibits original drawings and giant artworks from the series, allowing visitors to become fully immersed in the world of Attack on Titan.

Finally, adjacent to the Sapporo Beer Kyushu Hita Plant, visitors can enjoy themselves at the HITA Museum ANNEX. This museum offers the exhilarating opportunity to interact with an Attack on Titan ‘Immersive Comic’ (large digital exhibition) surrounding visitors in realistic images and sounds from the series. Visitors can also view reproductions of original Attack on Titan drawings selected by Isayama himself, and read his candid reflections on his feelings at the time. All of the above–mentioned exhibits are unique to Hita!
